Winter Blues

Can you believe this weather? Longmont is experiencing below zero temperatures, and we have had snowfall amounting to fourteen inches above our normal six to seven inches in January. Enough already! Why did I cancel our Hawaii vacation!

What a disappointing Sunday evening! The game was less than exciting. My Broncos lost big time, mostly due to turnovers and penalties; however, let’s not take anything away from the Sea Hawks. They are a young, aggressive, team, and they played a flawless game. Congrats to Pete and his guys. I’m sure they will remain a potent force in the NFL. Now for the other disappointment of the evening – the boring commercials! I’ve criticized these attempts at getting me to buy stuff or use services in the past because the messages were insulting and stupid. This year, apparently in an effort to get back into the good graces of viewing families across the world, advertisers spewed huge amounts of patriotism, family values, and other stuff not even remotely relating to their products. It amazes me that they pay $4 million for a thirty-second spot, and can’t find advertising agencies that can get their message out! Oh, well, maybe next year. Go Broncos!

Finally, the first draft of the manuscript of my newest novel in the Cat Touchette Cajun series, “Cat’s Litter, Cajun Tale #3” is completed and a couple of friends have read it and returned it with comments and recommendations. I’m about half way through the re-write and the new book should be available around March 1, 2014. BOLO! Print and EBook will be first available on and kindle, and then later, the audio edition will appear for sale on Please tell your friends, Email buddies, family, and anyone else you can think of. I need all the help I can get!
